Mock Grama Panchayat

The Political Science department's annual mock Grama Panchayat, in which second-year students take the roles of members, the President, the Panchayat Development Officer and the villagers, and conduct a full meeting on a real agenda.

This year's agenda: the drinking water scheme, the allotment of houses under the housing scheme, and the maintenance of the village road — the three items that come up at every actual Panchayat meeting in this taluk.

The Panchayat Development Officer of Tengli has agreed to sit in and comment at the end, which last year was the most useful hour of the whole exercise.

Open to all students and to anyone from the village who wants to watch. Registration is only so that we know how many chairs to put out.
